Retention Rate:
The Retention Rate is calculated as the percentage of first-time students who remained financially and academically active from the last Fall who enrolled in the most recent Fall.
Students who withdrew for medical reasons, died, moved back to their countries, entered the armed services, an official church mission assignment, foreign aid service for the government or a higher-level program at another institution are excluded from this calculation.
Graduation (Completion) Rate:
The graduation rate reflects the percentage of full-time, first year student who complete their program within 150% of the expected time. For instance, in a two-year course, students who finish within up to three years are considered graduates.
Recognizing that the great majority of FCU’s student are mature adults who are managing various responsibilities, including family commitments, professional careers, ministry, and acknowledging that many of them are international student who are facing additional layer of complexity, such as financial constraints due to the currency exchanges and international borders, FCU has resolved to adopt a more equitable method for calculating graduation rates.
We now consider degree-seeking students who complete their programs within 250% of the normal full-time period of study for that program. This methodological adjustment is designed to offer a more equitable and accurate reflection of our students' achievements, ensuring that FCU's evaluation metrics align with the diverse realities of our student body.
Completion Rate (potential completers ÷ by actual completers x 100).
