Bruno Portigliatti has served Florida Christian University in several capacities since the year 2000. His involvement with the Institution includes being the Ombudsman, Director of Governmental Affairs, Chief Operating Officer, Executive President, and President. Since becoming the President on December 9, 2017, he has been committed to improving student learning and overall institutional effectiveness. He has also placed significant emphasis on expanding the Institution's recognition at the local, state, and international levels by applying for, and receiving, new levels of licensure, pursuing accreditation with nationally recognized accrediting agencies, and forging new institutional relationships and academic collaboration.
In addition to his work in academia, he leads the development of several real estate developments and is a community leader, having been civically engaged in his community for many years. In addition to his philanthropic work through New Beginnings Global Outreach, he served as Board Member of the Dr. P Phillips YMCA for seven years, was appointed by Orlando's Mayor to the City's Women and Minority Business Enterprise Certification Board, where he served as Chairman for almost two years, and is a member of the Dr. Phillips Rotary Club. In the education industry, he is a Board Member of the Florida Association of Postsecondary Colleges and Schools and is the Vice-President of the Council of Private Colleges of America, a membership organization for private degree granting institutions that provide quality faith-based education, in all 50 states and territories of the USA.
